Ten Year Anniversary Of John Howard As Australian Prime Minister

That this House congratulates the hon. John Howard MP on marking 10 years as Australia's Prime Minister on 2nd March 2006; notes that in his 10 years in office he has transformed the economic fortunes of Australia, helped create 1.7 million jobs and reduce unemployment from eight per cent. to five per cent., significantly reformed Australia's trade union laws and reduced Government debt and ensured that Australia has played a vital role in the war against terror, and maintained the country's historic relationship with the Monarchy; further notes that Mr Howard enjoys historically high approval ratings; and looks forward to Australia benefiting from a further decade of conservative policy.
