Commission For Architecture And The Built Environment Better Public Building Award 2006

That this House congratulates the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) on the launch of this year's Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award; notes that any public building that has been completed and come into use between 1st January 2005 and 31st January 2006 will be eligible; urges all hon. and right hon. Members with such outstanding public buildings in their constituency to nominate them for this award by downloading a form from www.betterpublicbuilding.org.uk before the closing date on 20th April 2006; further notes that outstanding public buildings such as hospitals, schools, libraries and museums help improve the environment for everyone, serve as a focus and source of pride for the whole community, and significantly raise the profile of a town or city; and concludes that the work of CABE in promoting better building and urban design is vital for enhancing the nation's quality of life.
