Demonstrators In London
EDM number 1566 in 2005-06, proposed by Philip Davies on 06/02/2006.
That this House is very concerned that some Muslim demonstrators in London were allowed to protest with boards containing such demands as `Behead those who insult Islam'; regrets that the police did not prevent the protestors from displaying these messages inciting murder; notes that this country has a tradition of treating people equally in the eyes of the law and believes this lack of action by the police against those inciting violence undermines this tradition; considers that those who use their right to free speech should be protected from those who choose to incite violence and murder; and urges that those chanting messages of hate or holding placards inciting violence and murder should now be arrested and prosecuted to avoid any further loss of faith in the police's neutrality.
