Bio-Diesel Duty
EDM number 1560 in 2005-06, proposed by Martyn Jones on 02/02/2006.
That this House recognises the importance of constantly finding new, environmentally-friendly, forms of energy; notes that the production of bio-diesel from waste vegetable oil represents one innovative form; further notes that the Government has already given a 20p tax break from 47.1p to 27.1p per litre; believes that more could be done; and calls on the Government to review the level of duty and bring it into line with the duty on natural gas, which is much less, despite not being a renewable energy source.
