UK And The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

EDM number 129 in 2005-06, proposed by Alan Simpson on 18/05/2005.

That this House welcomes the opening statement from the UK delegation to the Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference at the United Nations on 5th May of `our unequivocal undertaking to accomplish the elimination of nuclear arsenals'; recognises that such a worthy commitment is incompatible with plans to build a successor to the existing Trident nuclear missile system; and calls upon the Government to abandon any such plans.

This motion has been signed by a total of 74 MPs.
