Health Services In Rossendale

That this House congratulates the Rossendale Free Press on its initiative in mounting the Hands Off Our Hospitals campaign; recognises the concern that the current review of hospital services may result in a diminished health service for the people of Rossendale and surrounding areas; believes it is possible for the review to come up with a solution to maintain essential services, such as accident and emergency, critical care and maternity within reach of all the people of Rossendale and surrounding areas; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to consult the trusts involved to ensure that such a solution is achieved and, particularly the retention of a hospital in the Rossendale Valley.
