That this House welcomes the Lord Carey of Clifton's backing of the new Archbishop of York's call for the English to celebrate St George's Day in style; congratulates Archbishop Dr John Sentamu for reminding the English that they needed to take more pride in their Englishness; recognises that the Archbishop of York's words represented Britishness at its best; and notes with concern that the courts have refused to recognise St George's Day as a special occasion.
