Conduct Of Liberal Democrat Honourable Members

EDM number 1049 in 2005-06, proposed by Simon Burns on 16/11/2005.

That this House deplores the practice of Liberal Democrat honourable Members of the European Standing Committee who, on the two debates on the marketing of food derived from genetically modified maize, abstained on the vote in Committee only then to force a deferred division on the same issues on the floor of the House; further notes that in the debate on 14th November in the European Standing Committee the honourable Member for Falmouth and Camborne, the Liberal Democrat spokesman, informed the Committee that the Liberal Democrats would not oppose the motion; and condemns the conduct of the Liberal Democrats who then forced a deferred division on this same issue on 16th November.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
