Train Services West Of Exeter

EDM number 1022 in 2005-06, proposed by Adrian Sanders on 14/11/2005.

That this House notes with disappointment the Department of Transport's South Western Franchise Consultation Document, which suggests the removal of direct services between London Waterloo and stations west of Exeter; further notes the difficulties that this would cause to those wishing to travel to stations in Devon and Cornwall, including visitors who generate millions of pounds for the already weak far south west economy; and calls on the Government to ensure no loss of services on lines west of Exeter nor the creation of an unhealthy monopoly to and from London Paddington.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
