2018 World Cup

EDM number 1000 in 2005-06, proposed by Don Foster on 10/11/2005.

That this House recognises the enormous benefits that hosting the 2018 World Cup football finals could bring to the nation; commends the work of Geoff Thompson and the Football Association (FA) for strengthening the FA's position internationally from which a successful English bid could be launched; and encourages the FA to make a bid at the appropriate time for the 2018 World Cup football finals.

This motion has been signed by a total of 41 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
