PARKINSON'S AWARENESS WEEK, 11th-17th APRIL 2005

That this House welcomes Parkinson's Awareness Week 2005 on 11th to 17th April with the theme, Parkinson's Disease Society for every age at every stage; recognises the Society's continuing efforts to improve the quality of life for all people living with Parkinson's disease; notes the launch of the National Service Framework for Long Term Conditions; hopes that effective local implementation by local health organisations and committed health and social care professionals will lead to significant improvements in care and support for people with Parkinson's and their carers; further notes that there is currently no known cure for Parkinson's; supports the efforts of all those engaged in research into all aspects of Parkinson's disease at centres across the UK; and congratulates the Society for investing more than ú30 million in research since it was founded in 1969.
