That this House welcomes the publication of the Mayor of London's report Community Land Trusts and Mutual Home Ownership, and its recommendation that the Greater London Authority should implement the mutual home ownership model as developed by CDS Co-operatives; notes that this model can provide permanently affordable housing for key workers and others with average earnings in high cost areas; recognises that whilst CDS Co-operatives' scheme is suitable for London and other urban areas it is equally applicable to many rural communities; and urges the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to adopt mutual home ownership as an important part of its Five Year Plan to provide urgently-needed affordable housing throughout England.
