Continued Harassment Of Mordechai Vanunu
EDM number 721 in 2004-05, proposed by Llew Smith on 09/02/2005.
That this House is concerned at the continuing oppressive restrictions being imposed on Mordechai Vanunu by the Israeli Government; urges Her Majesty's Government to make representations to their Israeli counterparts that these restrictions on Mr Vanunu's civil liberties be removed without delay, as the anniversary of his release from prison approaches in April; notes that he has said nothing since his release to endanger the security of the State of Israel and, contrary to the accusations made against him, he clearly has no new secrets to reveal on Israel's nuclear arsenal; welcomes his opposition to all nuclear weapons in all countries; and calls on the Israeli Government to recognise Mr Vanunu's human rights by providing him with a passport, as he has most recently requested, and allow him to leave Israel to come to the United Kingdom to address a meeting of parliamentarians at the Palace of Westminster.
