Sinn Fein, The Mayor Of London And Northern Ireland
EDM number 679 in 2004-05, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 08/02/2005.
That this House notes the reported comments of Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, where he has indicated he is prepared to highlight the alleged disadvantage of Nationalists in Northern Ireland's Lisburn City Council but has not mentioned the worsening problems of Unionists in councils such as Londonderry, Down and Strabane where there is not only an employment disadvantage for Unionists but thousands of them have suffered intimidation from the military wing of the Provisional IRA, whose representatives, Sinn Fein, wrote to London's Mayor raising the matter in the first instance.
This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
