Operation Kongo

EDM number 671 in 2004-05, proposed by Tony Banks on 07/02/2005.

That this House enthusiastically congratulates the RSPCA and Scotland Yard's Wildlife Crime Unit on their successful raid on the Fountain public house in Bethnal Green and arrest of 14 men in connection with the illegal trade in songbirds; points out that between 50 and 70 per cent. of wild birds die within a fortnight of being trapped; and urges courts to deliver exemplary punishments to all those involved in this unbelievably selfish and wicked trade.

This motion has been signed by a total of 62 MPs.
