Palliative Care

EDM number 666 in 2004-05, proposed by Bob Spink on 07/02/2005.

That this House congratulates Sue Ryder Care on its campaign to ensure that people with cancer and other life shortening illnesses, together with their families, receive the best care and support possible based on the principles that everyone has the right to access the palliative services they need, that everyone should be able to exercise choice about the place they are cared for at the end of their lives, and that everyone is entitled to a good death, which means people should be enabled to spend their final days free of pain, with dignity, in the place of their choice; and calls on the Government to deliver this ideal.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
