Chinese New Year: Year Of The Rooster

EDM number 660 in 2004-05, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 04/02/2005.

That this House notes that the Chinese community in the UK will be celebrating the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rooster, on 9th February; takes this welcome opportunity to recognise the great contribution the Chinese community makes throughout the country, including in business, to the National Health Service, gastronomically and culturally; welcomes the work of the All Party Parliamentary Chinese in Britain Group, in bringing members of the Chinese community to the House for the first ever Chinese New Year Celebration in the House; and extends its best wishes to the UK's Chinese community for the forthcoming New Year.

This motion has been signed by a total of 83 MPs.
