Smoking In The House Of Commons
EDM number 649 in 2004-05, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 03/02/2005.
That this House welcomes the decision of the House of Commons Commission to ban smoking in most areas of the House; recognises that this long overdue reform will be of benefit to the health of honourable Members, staff and visitors to the House; notes that the consequences of passive smoking kill an estimated 1,000 people a year; and believes that the measure will provide a much improved and congenial working environment for all.
This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
