Gifting Of Military Equipment To The Iraqi Interim Government (No. 2)

EDM number 600 in 2004-05, proposed by Glenda Jackson on 26/01/2005.

That this House, while welcoming the gifting of equipment for security monitoring purposes to the Iraqi Interim Government, as detailed in the Ministry of Defence minute dated 25th January, deplores the inclusion in this gift of 774 medium machine guns (PKMs) and five million rounds of ammunition; and calls upon the Government to withdraw such military hardware, which will do nothing to reduce violence and intimidation in a country awash with such weapons.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
