Saneline And Macclesfield

EDM number 533 in 2004-05, proposed by Nicholas Winterton on 18/01/2005.

That this House expresses concern about the future of SANELINE's office in Macclesfield; notes with concern SANELINE's funding difficulties with the Department of Health necessitating the proposed closure of the organisation's office in Macclesfield and Bristol; recognises that SANELINE provides an invaluable service for people who are mentally ill and their families following the closure of Macclesfield's Parkside Hospital; further notes with regret that the ending of SANELINE's presence in Macclesfield will withdraw an important service and will result in the loss of six salaried posts and in excess of 40 volunteer positions; and calls upon the Department of Health fully to restore its funding commitment to SANELINE in respect of the coming financial year.

This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
