Exclusion Of Ucatt Members From National Recruitment And Retention Premia Within Agenda For Change

EDM number 484 in 2004-05, proposed by Michael Meacher on 12/01/2005.

That this House notes the progress in employer-employee relations, staff development and overall modernisation of the National Health Service pay agreements represented by Agenda for Change; is concerned therefore that building craft grades have been arbitrarily excluded from entitlement to the National Recruitment and Retention Premia when there is a national skills shortage in these professions and grades; welcomes the Health Minister's request to the joint chairs of the NHS staff Council for an early review of the application of National Recruitment and Retention Premia for Building Craft Grades; and looks to a rapid and satisfactory outcome of this matter, allowing acceptance of Agenda for Change by UCATT, which will go a long way to bedding down Agenda for Change as a standard by which to measure public sector pay agreements.

This motion has been signed by a total of 28 MPs.
