Mordechai Vanunu And The Rectorship Of Glasgow University

EDM number 413 in 2004-05, proposed by Ann McKechin on 16/12/2004.

That this House congratulates the students of Glasgow University on their decision to elect Mordechai Vanunu as their new university rector; believes that his election celebrates the unique sacrifice that he has made to the cause of peace by acting as whistleblower of Israel's secret nuclear weapons programme which led to his imprisonment for over 18 years and the harassment that he continues to suffer at the hands of the Israeli authorities; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to press the Israeli Government to allow Mordechai Vanunu to leave the country and to take up his new position.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
