Home-Made Ammunition
EDM number 354 in 2004-05, proposed by Mike Wood on 08/12/2004.
That this House is deeply concerned at the ease with which Mr David Bieber was able to buy the components and machinery to produce home-made ammunition, which he then used in the murder of PC Ian Broadhurst in Leeds on Boxing Day 2003 and the attempted murder of PCs Neil Roper and James Banks; shares the concerns of PC Broadhurst's family, West Yorkshire Police Federation and the trial judge that this is possible even though buying ammunition is illegal; and calls on the Government to support the campaign launched by Cindy Eaton, PC Broadhurst's mother, to close this loophole in the law.
