BBC And The North West

EDM number 338 in 2004-05, proposed by George Howarth on 07/12/2004.

That this House, whilst welcoming the BBC's announcement that more services currently located in London will be relocated to the North West, regrets the decision to concentrate all of them in Greater Manchester; notes that in the North West BBC services are already disproportionately centred in Greater Manchester; further notes that this decision fails to take account of the fact that Liverpool has been designated European Capital of Culture for 2008; and calls upon the BBC to reconsider its decision as a matter of urgency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
