That this House welcomes the campaign of Moira Chambers of Leicester to prevent fireworks continuing until the early hours of the morning; is concerned that fireworks are increasingly becoming disruptive; notes that there is also a disturbing increase in what can be called anti-social and even criminal use to destroy property and to harm people and animals; further notes that the demand on local fire and police crews has increased as more fires break out and injuries occur as a result of mishandled fireworks; and calls on local government to take action to prevent fireworks becoming a public nuisance.
