The City Of Glasgow

EDM number 315 in 2004-05, proposed by David Marshall on 06/12/2004.

That this House fully endorses the proposal of 'Let's Go To Glasgow' as the city region is one of the most dynamic, economically competitive and socially cohesive in Europe and is Scotland's only metropolitan area; accepts that it is a great city for art, culture and leisure, business, conferences, education, shopping, sport and tourism and is noted for the friendliness of its people; notes that the Intelligent Community Forum, based in New York, named Glasgow as the world's intelligent community of the year for 2004; welcomes its potential bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and the fact that it will stage the Seventh Special Olympics Great Britain National Games in July 2005; and hopes that many more people will say 'Let's Go To Glasgow'.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
