WEARING OF SCOTLAND'S NATIONAL DRESS AT CAMBRIDGE GRADUATION CEREMONIES
EDM number 1014 in 2004-05, proposed by Mike Weir on 04/04/2005.
That this House notes with concern the decision by Cambridge University to ban national dress from graduation ceremonies; further notes that this includes restrictions on the wearing of the kilt, Scotland's national dress; believes that the kilt has graced far greater stages than the Cambridge graduation ceremony; and calls on the University to reverse its decision with immediate effect.
