ELVIS PRESLEY'S FAMILY ROOTS IN ABERDEENSHIRE

EDM number 960 in 2003-04, proposed by Alex Salmond on 31/03/2004.

That this House is delighted to learn from the research of Scots author, Allan Morrison, that Elvis Presley's family origins lie in the Buchan village of Lonmay; notes that the people of North East Scotland will be delighted to discover that the king of rock and roll was an Aberdeenshire loon by ancestry; welcomes this well documented finding; and invites Elvis fans around the world to visit his musical roots in Lonmay, which would give a welcome and long-term boost to tourism in Aberdeenshire.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
