Ending Discrimination On Sexual Orientation In Employment
EDM number 906 in 2003-04, proposed by Julie Morgan on 24/03/2004.
That this House notes that Stonewall is holding a conference on discrimination against lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) persons in the workplace on 24th March; welcomes the attendance at that conference of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry; congratulates the Government on its record of delivery of improved rights for the LGB community, including the equalisation of the age of consent, the repeal of section 28 of the Local Government Act, the lifting of the ban on homosexuals serving in the military and the creation of adoption rights; and, recognising that equality and economic success go hand in hand and that the diversity of our society is one of its greatest strengths, calls upon the Government to continue to place the rights of lesbian, gay and bisexual persons, including in the workplace, at the top of its legislative agenda.
