Gibraltar Tercentenary Celebrations In London

EDM number 748 in 2003-04, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 02/03/2004.

That this House congratulates the Government of Gibraltar on holding the church service at St Clement Danes Church to commemorate 300 years of British sovereignty of Gibraltar and celebrate the close links between the UK and Gibraltar; pays tribute to the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, Mr Peter Caruana, for leading the celebrations, and Mr Albert Poggio, UK Representative for the Government of Gibraltar, and all his staff in the London office fo their efforts in organising the church service and future events due to be held throughout the year in the UK; recognises the importance of both commemorating this historic landmark and celebrating Gibraltar's culture, way of life and heritage; and looks forward to further such events held in both Gibraltar and the UK to mark the tercentenary.
