Iraqi Constitution
EDM number 721 in 2003-04, proposed by Bob Spink on 01/03/2004.
That this House congratulates Iraq's Interim Governing Council's temporary national constitution; welcomes the fact that Islam is one of a number of sources of legislation, rather than the only source, and that a degree of autonomy is given to the Kurdish people of Iraq; but calls for the independence and self determination of the Kurdish People to be guaranteed in a Kurdish state within a federal Iraqi constitution.
