Combined Heat And Power

EDM number 659 in 2003-04, proposed by Anne McIntosh on 24/02/2004.

That this House regrets the Government's disappointing record on attaining their target of 10 GWe generated through Combined Heat and Power (CHP) by 2010, and 15 per cent. of electricity for Government departments to be sourced from CHP by 2010; notes with regret that, despite the Conservative Government setting a target in 1990 of four GWe being achieved by 2000, there has been a marked reduction in CHP installation since 1997, with all major CHP developers having withdrawn from the United Kingdom market and over 2,000 jobs being lost.

This motion has been signed by a total of 48 MPs.
