Gas Mains Supply To Rural Homes In Wales

EDM number 656 in 2003-04, proposed by Albert Owen on 24/02/2004.

That this House is deeply concerned at the number of households in rural areas of Wales that do not have access to mains gas and that such a lack of choice for fuel often leads to expensive alternatives and effects fuel poverty; and calls on Transco and other gas suppliers to conduct a comprehensive survey of households to ascertain the demand with a view to getting as many homes connected on the basis of need not geography.
