Mr Lenny Bruce

That this House warmly congratulates Governor George Pataki in New York for his posthumous pardon of the great social and political satirist Lenny Bruce, in respect of his 1964 obscenity conviction; asks the current Home Secretary to disassociate himself from the action of his predecessor in deporting Lenny Bruce from this country on 14th April 1963; and further hopes that all the honourable and Right honourable Members will recognise the genius of Lenny, whose father was born in Tenterden, Kent, UK.
