Gm Maize And Co-Existence

EDM number 636 in 2003-04, proposed by Simon Thomas on 12/02/2004.

That this House notes the reluctance of the National Assembly for Wales Executive to accede to the cultivation in the United Kingdom of the GM maize variety Chardon LL due to the potential impact on the burgeoning organic sector in Wales; believes that the question of co-existence, contamination and liability between GM crops, conventional crops and organic crops remains unresolved; and therefore believes that the Government must not license this crop at present.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
