That this House notes that water companies are not statutory consultees in the planning process; believes that current housebuilding takes no account of additional pressures on the existing sewerage system which often leads to the devastating problem of sewer flooding; and calls on the Government to rectify this situation by ensuring that water companies become statutory consultees.
