Investment In Railways

EDM number 419 in 2003-04, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 14/01/2004.

That this House notes the substantial underfunding of the railways throughout the United Kingdom; recognises that increasing numbers of people are using rail as a means of commuting to and from work; further recognises that main arterial routes and motorways will become more congested over the next few years, with the increase in car ownership; and calls for a radical overhaul and reinvestment programme for the railways to make United Kingdom rail travel among the best in Europe.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
