Army Decision To Remove Union Flag From Soldiers Uniforms
EDM number 417 in 2003-04, proposed by Iris Robinson on 14/01/2004.
That this House notes with dismay the decision by the Commanding Officer of the British Army in Northern Ireland to remove the National Flag of the United Kingdom from the uniforms of soldiers returning from the war in Iraq and now serving in Northern Ireland; and calls upon the Government immediately to reverse this decision which has upset officers, and their families, who fought and in some cases died in Iraq while proudly wearing their nation's flag.
