Grahame Park Post Office, Colindale

EDM number 373 in 2003-04, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 07/01/2004.

That this House expresses its grave concern over Post Office Ltd's plan to close Grahame Park Post Office; notes the inadequate period of consultation conducted over the Christmas holiday; recognises that this post office serves a community in which severe deprivation is rife and its closure would lead to further isolation of many vulnerable people; notes that it also serves users of Flightways Day Centre, people with severe disabilities, many pensioners and lone parent families; further notes that car ownership in the area is low and public transport links to the proposed alternatives are inconvenient; further recognises that forthcoming regeneration projects will substantially increase the population in the area served by this post office; and calls on Post Office Ltd to withdraw its ill-considered plan to close Grahame Park Post Office forthwith.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
