That this House welcomes the decision to award Jack Harrison with the Victoria Cross for his bravery during the First World War where he single-handedly attacked a German machine-gun post during the battle of Oppy Wood on 3rd May 1917; notes that before joining the army he played rugby league for Hull FC, gaining legendary status at the club, scoring 52 tries during the 1914-15 season which remains a club record; and pays tribute to his efforts on the rugby pitch and his ultimate sacrifice during World War One.
