Public Sector Pensions
EDM number 1925 in 2003-04, proposed by Tony Lloyd on 15/11/2004.
That this House welcomes the initiative of the TUC and its affiliate unions on organising a lobby of Parliament on public sector pensions on 16th November; recognises the opportunity for honourable Members to hear first hand the concerns of many public servants that a compulsory increase in the normal pension age from 60 to 65 represents a significant reduction in their terms and conditions; and urges the Government and trade unions to discuss urgently whether a flexible decade of retirement could meet both Government objectives and the concerns of public servants.
This motion has been signed by a total of 99 MPs.
