UK Sovereign Rights Over Marine Biological Resources
EDM number 1873 in 2003-04, proposed by Nigel Dodds on 03/11/2004.
That this House notes that, under the proposed constitution for the European Union Article 13, the conservation of marine biological resources is to be an exclusive competence of the European Union; believes that such a proposal is contrary to the United Nations Convention and the Law of the Sea and the best interests of the United Kingdom; and affirms that the United Kingdom should have the sovereign rights for the purposes of exploitation, use, conservation and management of its marine biological resources.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
