60th Anniversary Of The Army Benevolent Fund

EDM number 1856 in 2003-04, proposed by Bob Russell on 02/11/2004.

That this House pays tribute to the Army Benevolent Fund on its Diamond Jubilee, which was commemorated with a Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey on 28th October; notes with admiration that in the 60 years since its formation in 1944 the Fund has helped in more than three million individual cases; recognises that its work as the Army's national charity, committed to the welfare of soldiers, ex-soldiers and their families in times of real need is as relevant today as it was when it was established; places on record its appreciation to all the volunteers and staff who over the past 60 years have made the Fund such a success; and wishes everybody associated with the Army Benevolent Fund continued success in the years ahead.

This motion has been signed by a total of 51 MPs.
