Coal Health Payments
EDM number 1776 in 2003-04, proposed by David Hamilton on 20/10/2004.
That this House welcomes the decision of the Department of Trade and Industry in putting in place a tariff system for coal health payments, with the option of a right to request a medical assessment if the initial offer is unacceptable; and believes that this will ensure that the scheme brought about by this Labour Government, the biggest of its kind in the world, will ensure that all miners, widows and their families have received this long deserved entitlement to compensation.
This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
