Suspension Of Steve Joyce By Leicester City Council
EDM number 1700 in 2003-04, proposed by Keith Vaz on 11/10/2004.
That this House notes with concern the recent decision by Leicester City Council to suspend Steve Joyce, manager of the traveller liaison team at the council, over comments Mr Joyce made about the council leader's unwillingness to tackle the problem of illegal traveller camps by providing official sites; further believes that the suspension was unnecessary as Mr Joyce's comments were in the public interest; and calls for his reinstatement and an appropriate apology to be made to him.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
