WORLD ALZHEIMER'S DAY, 21ST SEPTEMBER 2004

EDM number 1673 in 2003-04, proposed by Andrew Lansley on 16/09/2004.

That this House congratulates Alzheimer's Disease International, and the Alzheimer's Society, for organising World Alzheimer's Day, taking place on 21st September, notes that the theme for this year's awareness day is 'no time to lose'; recognises that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the creation of Alzheimer's Disease International and the 10th anniversary of the first World Alzheimer's Day; further recognises that because around 400,000 people in the UK currently have Alzheimer's and that it will afflict up to 1 in 5 people over 80, that campaigns such as this are key to raising awareness of this degenerative disease; congratulates them on a long record of seeking to raise awareness of this issue; and further congratulates all of those organising and taking part in events across the world this year.

This motion has been signed by a total of 92 MPs.
