CHILDREN'S WARD IN CHELTENHAM

EDM number 1647 in 2003-04, proposed by Nigel Jones on 14/09/2004.

That this House supports the continuation of Battledown Ward at Cheltenham General Hospital in providing round-the-clock health services to children; opposes plans to downgrade the ward to a paediatric assessment unit with no overnight stays; resists proposals to move acute children's services to Gloucester Royal Hospital; believes such proposals will inconvenience many families in East Gloucestershire; congratulates parents, children, doctors and nurses who marched through Cheltenham on Saturday 11th September to show their support for Battledown Ward; and urges the Secretary of State for Health to ensure that Cheltenham's children continue to have access to a full range of services in the town.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
