That this House notes that 312,000 people are registered as blind or partially-sighted in England, 69 per cent. of whom are over 75 years of age; congratulates the Gloucestershire County Association for the Blind (GCAB) on its outstanding work as the oldest and largest charity working for the visually impaired in Gloucestershire; recognises that approximately 3,000 visually impaired people are supported through GCAB's visiting service and that its volunteers work at 600 hospital clinics annually; welcomes GCAB's Re-launch Week from 18th to 26th September; and calls on the Government to ensure that every effort is made to secure equality of access to services for visually impaired people under the Disability Discrimination Act.
