Nuclear Power Cost
EDM number 1593 in 2003-04, proposed by Paul Flynn on 07/09/2004.
That this House rejects the orchestrated propagation of the myth that nuclear power is a cost effective remedy for the consequences of grobal warming; notes that nuclear power receives a United Kingdom subsidy of ú2 million a day and is rendered economically ruinous by the threat of nuclear terrorism and the intractable legacy of nuclear waste; and believes that any return to failed nuclear technology will undermine investment in robust, cost-effective and environmentally benign sources of power.
