Aerospace Innovation Centre - North West

That this House welcomes the announcement at the Farnborough Air Show on 21st July by the Chief Executive of the North West Regional Development Agency that the new Ãº30 million Aerospace Innovation Centre is to be based within Lancashire, creating a hi-tech centre of excellence attached to, and supported by, one of Lancashire's excellent universities; believes that this is a major development for Lancashire's universities as a whole, and for Lancashire and the North West as a whole, in a region where aerospace is a crucial industry; and notes that it will combine the skills of 800 companies in the North West, that it has the support of eight universities and that it will be a focal point and a dynamic force in projecting the region's strong lead in innovation and technology in the aerospace industry.
